Shish Taouk is a popular grilled dish that originates from Turkish cuisine and has spread throughout the Middle East. Shish Tawook primarily consists of marinated chicken pieces grilled on skewers, and it is typically served with rice or bread and various salads
Ingredients
- 1 Kilogram of Chicken breast
- 1 Cup of yogurt
- 2 Tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 Tablespoon of vinegar
- 1 Piece of Lemon
- 3 Piece of onion
- 1 Teaspoon of garlic
- 2 Tablespoon of Tomato paste
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- 1 Teaspoon of Ground black pepper
- 1 Teaspoon of Onion powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Garlic powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Curry powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Dry coriander
- 1 Teaspoon of Thyme powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Paprika
- 2 Piece of Tomato
- 2 Piece of Bell pepper

We wash the chicken thoroughly and then cut it into cubes

Then we prepare the marinade, which consists of one cup of yogurt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil or any vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, juice of one lemon, one small finely chopped onion, one teaspoon of minced garlic, and 2 tablespoons of tomato paste. We add the spices: one teaspoon each of (salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, coriander, curry powder, thyme, paprika, and chili powder). Mix all the ingredients together until well combined

After that, we add the marinade to the chicken pieces and mix them well. We let it marinate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to achieve the best flavor

Cut the vegetables into cubes as well (tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers). On wooden or metal skewers, alternate by placing a piece of chicken, a piece of onion, and a piece of bell pepper, repeating this sequence about four times depending on the length of the skewer

After preparing all the skewers, gently brush them with the same marinade. Place them in the oven at a high temperature for about 15 minutes, turning them occasionally until the chicken pieces are fully cooked and acquire a golden color

Serve the Shish Taouk hot with rice or bread and salads
